It is a button brooch made of Nishijin-ori. The fabric has a checkered pattern. On top of that, a star made by a technique unique to Japan and Kyoto called Kyo damascene was displayed. Inlaying is a traditional craft technique in which innumerable scratches are made on a metal bullion and gold or silver is pasted on top of it. Stars have meanings such as "hope" and "glory."
